Synopsis by Kaitlin Elise Miller
Ali struggles to live up to the expectations of his Muslim cleric father and their community. He is supposed to become a doctor and go through with an arranged marriage to Yomna (Maha Wilson), a woman at their mosque. When Ali lies about getting top marks in his medical school entrance exam, he sets off a chain reaction that could ruin his chances of blazing his own trail and making a future with Dianne (Helana Sawires), the woman he really loves. Directed by Jeffrey Walker. Written by and starring Osamah Sami, who won an Australian Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film.
