Nicholas Kovacic and Matthew Riggieri’s “expressive documentary” focuses on the lives and livelihoods of three Mexican tequila and mezcal producers (Carlos Camarena, Graciela Angeles Carreño, and Aquilino García Lopez) at a time when both spirits are amassing global popularity. It examines the economic, historical, and cultural significance of the agave plants which are used to make them.
