Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Presented publicly for the very first time, Charles Bukowski's last public poetry reading comes home courtesy of videographer Jon Monday. The year was 1980, and as consumer grade video cameras began flooding the market, a record label releasing a Bukowski LP hired Monday to videotape a reading by the poet in Redondo Beach. Little did Monday realize that he would be capturing history on camera, and twenty-five years after that reading, poetry fans can see why Bukowski was truly one of the most talented and unpredictable writers of his generation. And while, technically speaking, it may be somewhat raw, this video account of Bukowski's swan song will be a priceless addition to the collection of any longtime fan.
