Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Zum Goldenen Ochsen (Golden Ox Inn) is set in a rustic Swiss hotel. The owner of the establishment cares only about accruing vast sums of money, ignoring his wife and daughter in the process. Only at the last minute does the innkeeper get wise to himself and avert domestic tragedy. With only a $93,000 budget at their disposal, the film's producers can be forgiven for their inability to assemble a completely convincing supporting cast. Otherwise, Zum Goldenen Ochsen is an attractively photographed and expertly directed effort.
