Synopsis by Olivia Cantor
Directed by Janicza Bravo, this comedy-drama film is inspired by the Twitter thread that went viral in 2015. Using her account handle @_zolarmoon, Aziah “Zola” King (Taylour Paige) tweets about meeting a sex worker named Stefani (Riley Keough), and how they strike up an immediate friendship which leads to a strange road trip. The women aim to reach Florida and earn as much money as they can by dancing in various strip clubs in the state. However, they run into several mishaps and misadventures as they travel with Stefani’s male companions: her boyfriend Derrek and her pimp named X.
