Some sources list Tom Mix as one of the cast members in Your Girl and Mine, but this is unlikely, since the picture was produced by World Films at a time when Mix was gainfully employed at Selig. A pro-suffragette tract, the film claims that all the woes and travails heaped upon American womanhood could be lifted if only women were given the vote. The downtrodden heroine suffers under an antiquated state law which makes her responsible for her brutish husband's debts. Things get even worse when her husband dumps her in favor of a younger woman. With no other recourse, the heroine joins a Women's Rights movement, hoping to change the laws that have victimized her but allowed her no-good husband to remain unpunished. Her problems are ultimately solved when she falls in love with the state's crusading lieutenant governor, thereby negating the message set forth in the film's early reels; after all, why should women worry their pretty little heads about voting, when a wealthy marriage can take care of everything?
