Synopsis by Daniel Gelb
A "Yellowneck" was a deserter from the Confederate Army. This adventure centers on five such soldiers as they struggle through the dense and dangerous Florida Everglades en route to Cuba. Not only must they deal with the natural dangers of the swamps, they must also deal with the angry Indians living there. Eventually, only one of the deserters makes it to the coast. There he discovers that the boat that was supposed to be there has vanished.
