"The End of Time" was the first chapter of the X-Men's four-part saga "Beyond Good and Evil." In the year 3999 A.D., immortal mutant Apocalypse is locked in battle with time-traveller Cable. Gaining control of Cable's computer, Apocalypse is able to literally throw time out of joint. The X-Men are confronted by virtually all their enemies, past, present, and future. Making things worse, Scott and Jean Grey's second attempt to get married is thwarted when Jean is abducted by Mr. Sinister and his Nasty Boys. Meanwhile, 22nd century time-hopper Bishop is trapped in a time-prison, with his sister Shard putting her own existence in jeopardy to rescue him.
