Synopsis by Rob Ferrier
The war between Russia and Germany is often neatly divided by the watershed battle of Stalingrad. To put it simply, before Stalingrad, things generally went the German way; after the epic battle, it went quite the opposite. This tape reviews some of the events preceding the confrontation on the Volga, including the heyday of the German blitzkrieg attack as German columns drive deep into the Soviet Union and it appears that ultimate Nazi victory is at hand.
