Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This downbeat tale is set in a depressed, nameless, dirty little town where those not unemployed work at low-paying dead-end jobs. Jenny is only in her twenties but already she feels her life has reached a dead end. She is married to a dull mill worker she does not love, and though obviously bright, cannot find even the most demeaning job. She escapes the crushing oppression of boredom only through her secret affair with her young next door neighbor June. Unfortunately, June is preparing to leave town and go to college.
