Synopsis by Sarah Ing
Astronauts are often treated to a vision of the Earth rising over the surface of the Moon. The view of our planet from space is a rare treat that TLC has re-created in Wonders of the Universe: Blue Planet. Swathed in swirls of blue and white, the everyday Earth is a common image. But, here, still pictures and satellite photos demonstrate what the planet might look like to a stranger. Topography, climate, and volcanic eruptions can change the face of the Earth. The malleability of the surface is showcased in this half-hour presentation.
