Synopsis by Brian Gusse
Although not quite as popular as Frankenstein's monster or Dracula, the Wolfman films have been around for almost as long. Based on the old Eastern European legends of werewolves, men who could change into wolves to satisfy their need for blood, the genre reached its zenith with George Waggner's 1944 The Wolfman. Using scenes from that movie, as well as footage from and trailers for such movies as Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man and I Was a Teenage Werewolf, this film traces the evolution of the werewolf/wolfman character in movies.
