Triangle vamp Louise Glaum proves herself to be every bit as evil as her Fox rival Theda Bara in this melodrama. Leila Aradella (Glaum) gets young Rex Walden (fledgling star Charles Ray) into her clutches. This so distresses his mother (Gertrude Claire) that she sends older brother Franklyn (Wyndham Standing) to straighten the boy out. But Leila is already growing tired of Rex, so she sets her sights on Franklyn. She succeeds in snaring him, and the heartbroken Rex commits suicide. This doesn't wake up Franklyn, and he continues to let himself be vamped by Leila (who seemingly has a different seductive outfit for every occasion). Finally, Mrs. Walden sends nice girl Adele Harley (Marjery Temple) to interfere, and her purity wins Franklyn over. Leila, thoroughly confounded by this state of affairs, takes to drink and one day slashes her face when a mirror falls on her. She is scarred so that no man will ever want her again.
