In this adaptation of The Sorceress by Victorien Sardou, Nance O'Neil plays Zora, a woman with hypnotic powers. In the Mexican village where she lives, it is rumored that she is a witch. Zora falls in love with a man named Riques without realizing that he is engaged to the governor's daughter. When she finds out, she puts the girl under a hypnotic trance. The villagers are about to burn Zora at the stake, but the governor finds out that she is the only one who can cure his daughter. She saves herself by waking the girl up, but is cast out of town.
