This episode was written around a real-life injury that temporarily sidelined Wiseguy star Ken Wahl). Having witnessed the grotesque suicide of a serial killer, an unnerved Vinnie (Wahl) has gone AWOL from his duties as a federal undercover agent, and has checked into a Seattle flophouse until he can get his head back on straight. In his absence, former OCB "wiseguy" Roger Lococco (William Russ) is brought out of mothballs to continue Vinnie's assignment: To get the goods on crooked businessman Volchek (Steve Ryan), who rules the small town of Lynchboro, Washington with an iron hand.
