Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The star of Winning the Futurity was famous jockey Walter Miller. In a triumph of innovation, he was cast in the demanding role of famous jockey Walter Miller. He also served as the film's producer, so he had only himself to blame if audiences didn't warm up to the film's star. A pillar of honesty, Miller refuses to throw the all-important Futurity Race at the behest of the villain. As a result, Miller is drugged and kidnapped to keep him far away from the Big Event. After a knock-down, drag-out fight with his captors, Miller races to the track in time to mount his steed and win the race -- and all for the sake of the heroine, whose father's financial future hinges upon the race's outcome. The 1926 film Winning the Futurity does not appear to be a remake of the 1915 picture.
