Synopsis by Augustine Chay
Yû Aoi, Issey Takahashi, and Masahiro Higashide star in director Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s historical drama. During World War II, a Japanese wife begins to doubt her merchant husband’s loyalty to the nation after he witnesses a barbaric act in Manchuria. After being warned that her husband may be a spy for the Allied Forces, she is torn between her love for him and her ties to their homeland.
