During a visit to diamond merchant Jeert Van Loon, Anna suffers a blackout - a legacy of the abuse she suffered in a Nazi concentration camp. When she regains consciousness she finds Van Loon is dead. Terrified, she turns to Johann Schmidt - her only contact in Britain and a friend of her late father's - to help her find the killer but Anna soon discovers that her 'friend' is hiding a dark secret...
