WHITNEY HOUSTON IN FOCUS is the only filmed story of its kind about Whitney Houston. It focuses on her early years, 1982 to 1986 – pre-fame and in the first blush of stardom – and is told from the perspective of photographer Bette Marshall. After seeing an unknown Whitney perform, Bette had the idea to document the story of a singer on the verge. Bette was given access by the Houston family to capture a young Whitney at home, auditions, early performances – even in church. The film is structured around 10 photo sessions that Bette had with Whitney during these years and gives a rare and intimate account of Whitney’s rise to fame.
