Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Produced for the Scottish Television division of Britain's ITV, Wheel of Fortune was a carbon copy of the same-named American game show. That is, contestants were allowed to solve a rebus and accumulate cash and merchandise prizes with the turn of a gigantic chuck-a-luck wheel. Since its debut in 1989, the Scottish Wheel has had at least four emcees: Nicky Campbell, Bradley Walsh, John Leslie, and Paul Hendy. Stepping into the shoes of America's Vanna White as the series' attractive letter-turner were three toothsome British lasses: Angela Ekeate, Carol Smilie, and Jenny Powell.
