Synopsis by Alice Day

This National Film Board of Canada production examines the discomforts surrounding the menstrual cycle, and how women cope with them. These monthly ocurrences can involve both physical and mental changes, and are frequently regarded as unpleasant and negative, interfering with the day-to-day activities of a woman. In What People Are Calling PMS, several women who suffer from these changes talk about premenstrual syndrome, which, in some cases, can be debilitating. Medical personnel appear on the program to discuss methods for relieving PMS with exercise and changes to the diet.
