Synopsis by Dan Pavlides
Nazis who invade Poland in 1939 are met with heroic resistance from the locals near the Northern fort of Westerplatte. The brave soldiers and citizens hold out for over a week against overwhelming odds as they try to ward off the invaders. Highlights are the battle scenes and the psychological drama of the brave but doomed defenders. The feature appeared at the Moscow Film Festival in 1967.
