Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Actor-turned-director Emory Johnson made this simple film about simple folks. Bill Buckley (Ralph Lewis) is the engineer of the Westbound Limited. He saves the life of Esther (Ella Hall), the daughter of Bernard Miller, the railroad president (Richard Morris). Miller is so grateful that he gives Buckley and his wife (Claire McDowell) a new home. When an assistant is fired for drinking on the job, he schemes to wreck the train carrying the president home from a trip. But Buckley's son Johnny (Johnny Harron) comes to the rescue by leaping on a horse and making a mad dash to the crossing before the train gets there. The warm relationship between the engineer and the president is further cemented by the romance between Johnny and Esther. Johnson's prior film, The Third Alarm, also featured a working-class hero, in that case a fireman, and had both Lewis and Hall in the cast.
