Synopsis by Mark Deming

Some unexpected news forces a family to take a long look at their feelings in this drama from Iran. Jamshid left his home in Iran to look for work in Europe in hopes of better supporting his family. At first, Jamshid wrote his family frequently and sent them a share of his earnings, but after a while the letters stopped coming and his family isn't sure what's become of him. One day, a man appears at the family's door claiming he knows Jamshid, and that the expatriate is eager to hear from them. Jamshid's brother Omid (Mohsen Ghazimorad) decides to get a video camera and make a home movie to get his brother up to date on the family's lives, but the rest of the household has serious misgivings about the idea. Jamshid's wife Vida (Aida Keykhahni) is still smarting from her husband's lack of communication and the indignities of living with her husband's parents. Nahid (Leila Zare), Jamshid's sister, is bitter about having been put in the position of supporting the family in her brother's absence. Jamshid's father Abbas (Ali Rashvand) is in failing heath and feels hurt by his son's callous behavior, and while his mother (Ahoo Kheradmand) is more forgiving, she has a hard time hiding her own pain and disappointment. Ma Hameh Khoubim (aka We Are All Fine) was the first feature film from writer and director Bizhan Mirbagheri.
