Synopsis by Janiss Garza
Melville Ilchester (Thomas Hardy) sees a wax model on display in a dressmaker's shop and is enraptured by its beauty. He is even more enraptured when he meets Julie (Vivian Martin), the girl who posed for the figure. Their romance grows, but one day she causes him to doubt her fidelity and he leaves her. Julie is so heartbroken over this that she becomes gravely ill. Melville, hearing that she is on her deathbed, rushes to her side and she is restored to health. Director E. Mason Hopper, usually quite competent, must have had an off week when he worked on this programmer -- much of it came off as unintentionally funny. Thomas Hardy (a Lou Tellegen lookalike) didn't help matters either with his incessant posturing.
