Review by Hans J. Wollstein

Although a good idea on paper, the "Singing Cowgirl" was really doomed to failure considering that the main audience for this sort of thing were hero-worshipping youngsters. But Dorothy Page gave it a good try and Water Rustlers benefits both from her spirited performance and some unusual location filming near San Diego. Mack Stengler's camera catches the desert at its most glorious and Samuel Diege's direction is more than competent. The only handicap is the comedy of Vince Barnett, who for obscure reasons chose to affect a strange foreign accent.
