Synopsis by Alice Day

For this history series, distinguished professors from the Department of History at the University of Warwick discuss and analyze some of the major European events of the past four centuries. In this program, Mussolini's rise to his dictatorship is traced, with an in-depth look at fascism and its ideals. "Il Duce," as he was known, joined forces with Nazi Germany in 1936, and despite not having appreciable military forces, entered World War II in 1940. These programs are designed for high school and college-aged students.
