A lost lottery ticket provides the basis for this comedy that is most notable for its detailed views of life among the urban poor on the Ivory Coast. Ali is a policeman struggling to make ends meet for his family. When he learns that his good wife Awa purchased him a winning lottery ticket, he is delighted. Unfortunately they cannot find it anywhere.Things get more problematic when their families learn of their good fortune.The relatives begin appearing with their palms out, looking for a piece of the pie. When at last, they do find the ticket, poor Ali realizes that he cannot begin to accommodate themselves and the families.
