In this series aimed at aviation history buffs, details of World War II planes are presented. Warbird Checkout Series, Vol. 1 includes five programs that provide footage of the planes in action. Flying the F4U Corsair shows the bent-wing fighter plane going through its paces, while the plane used by the Flying Tigers is demonstrated in "Flying the P-40 Warhawk." "Flying the SB2A-4Buccaneer" depicts the plane that was relegated to a scouting role, and "Flying the TBF Avenger" shows the torpedo bomber performing combat maneuvers. In "Flying the F6F Hellcat," viewers will see the plane taking off, diving, and landing.
