Hemchandra Chunder directs this rural-urban culture-clash drama about a country bumpkin named Shyam (Asit Baran) who falls in love with beautiful city girl Shobha (Bharati Devi), who is visiting her ancestral village with her father. The prospective marriage is resisted by both families, especially after Shyam's autocratic, stingy father insults Shobha's dad. After Shobha returns to the city to marry Rajendra (Dhiraj Bhattacharya), the son of a worker at Shobha's father's company, Shyam moves to the city hoping to prevent the wedding. Everything ends happily for the two when Shyam is allowed to marry Shobha after getting hired by her father's company.
