Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The British "reality" game show Wanted was spread out over eight weeks. During this period, two contestants ran the length and breadth of the United Kingdom, pursued by a team of professional "Trackers." If the contestants were able to avoid capture, they won the 60,000-pound grand prize -- but of course there were a few provisos. For one thing, neither of the contestants was allowed to hide, nor allowed to simply stay put; for another, each contestant was required to perform a silly, attention-getting task per day. The progress of the chase was charted at Wanted Organization headquarters in London by a group of suspense novelists, military strategists, and other such hare-and-hound experts. Wanted premiered October 30, 1996.
