In 1850, Alfred Russell Wallace explored the island world of the Malay Archipelago - and discovered that nature there was divided into two biogeographical areas as if by a mysterious border. This border still bears his name today: Wallace Line. 150 years later, a new generation of scientists is searching for further evidence of this natural phenomenon and diving into a mysterious world that remained hidden from Wallace in his time. The researchers want to find out whether the Wallace Line phenomenon also continues underwater.
