Synopsis by Rose of Sharon Winter

This video is one of a three-part series that explores the Celtic cultures of Great Britain. This episode takes a look at Wales, or Cymru, a principality that lies west of England. The film relates the myths, legends, and history of the Isle of Wales, a place of great beauty. The Romans occupied Wales and exploited its mineral wealth. The region was divided into tribal kingdoms and was ultimately Christianized. Wales resisted the Anglo-Saxon invasions, but was eventually dominated by the Normans under William the Conqueror and made part of the United Kingdom. Accompanying the commentary is traditional singing by the legendary musicians of the country.
