Synopsis by Robert Silva
Berlin's Waldbühne Theater is one of Germany's premiere concert venues, lending an aura of opulence to any classical-music performance. Recorded on June 27, 1992, this program finds conductor Georges Pretre leading the Berlin Philharmonic and soloist Leon Fleisher in a selection of French music, including Berlioz's "Roman Carnival Overture," Ravel's "Bolero," Debussy's "L'Apres-Midi d'un Faune," and Bizet's "Carmen Suite".
