Synopsis by Janiss Garza
When detective William Wakefield (J.P. Wade) is murdered, his son, William Wakefield, Jr. (Herbert Rawlinson) swears to bring the killer to justice. At the time of his death, Wakefield, Sr. had been following brother jewel thieves Richard and James Kregan (Charles Dalton and Joseph Burke), and the jewels are now in the hands of the Breen gang, who are sailing for America. Wakefield, Jr. shadows them on the ship, and meets Ruth Gregg (Florence Billings), who is going to meet her father in the States. James Kregan is also secretly onboard, and he watches a romance develop between Wakefield and Ruth, who he believes to be one of the Breen gang. Once in the States, the plot thickens (as generally happens in mysteries such as this one), and Kregan thinks the jewels are at the home of Ruth and her father (J.H. Gilmore). The truth is that father and daughter are members of the secret service and Kregan is finally captured.
