Jonathan Foo and Nguyen Phan Quang Binh's Vu Khuc Con Co (Song of the Stork) is about young men who served in the North Vietnamese army during their war with the United States. Manh claims he is older than he is in order to join, and his friend May signs up with him. A writer named Van weds his girlfriend during a leave. Lam is trained in espionage, which makes him question how he stands on the war. Based on actual people and events, these stories are recounted by a Vietnamese cameraman who was with the Viet Cong army. Song of the Stork was screened at the Montreal Film Festival.
