Synopsis by Sarah Ing
Filmmaker Al Giddings is considered one of the greatest underwater photographers in the world. His work ranges from features films to Emmy award-winning documentaries. Nova follows the creative director as he confronts marine life in Nova: Visions of the Deep. The sea is both beautiful and frightening in its variety. Giddings captures both of these aspects with the camera. From sharks to sensitive equipment, dangers lurk beneath the waves for photographers. Though Giddings considers it another day on the job, viewers can revel in the art and science of deep-sea directing.
