Synopsis by Jack Rodgers
Writer/director Paz Fábrega's black-and-white film Viaje uses its brief runtime (only 70 minutes) to examine a fling that keeps threatening to develop into something more. Luciana (Kattia González) and Pedro (Fernando Bolaños) meet at a house party. They flirt. They kiss. They share a cab back to her place. They have (they think) a one-night stand and a pleasant morning after. Smitten with each other, they impulsively decide to head off on a camping trip together rather than go their separate ways. Their impromptu vacation is a romantic escape from their everyday lives, but as they learn more about one another, it becomes less clear whether they have a real future as a couple. Viaje made its world premiere at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival.
