Synopsis by Hal Erickson
The British A Very Important Person is better known to Late Show fans under its American title, A Coming Out Party. James Robertson-Justice plays a British scientist captured by the Nazis during World War II. This requires a rescue mission, helmed by a handful of special commandoes. Briton Stanley Baxter takes the bull by the horns, impersonating his look-alike, the Nazi prison commandant. The biggest problem for the rescuers is putting up with scientist Justice, who is most difficult to deal with and snippily resistant to anything that might endanger his well-being. As might be gathered from the above precis, A Coming Out Party is a comedy.
