Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
The sights and sounds of a carnival celebration at the end of Lent in Venice are recorded in this frenetic documentary by Carlo Tuzii. Masked revelers dance around St. Mark's Square while modest theater groups perform for anyone who wants to stand still long enough to watch. Among these offerings is an impressive Medieval story of "Merrymaking in Times of Plague," as well as other, wildly disparate performances that oddly fit in with the raucous crowds.
