Georgian filmmaker Harutyun Khachatryan directs the documentary film Vaveragrough (Documentarist). Shot in black-and-white, this hour-long film explores the difficulty of surviving in contemporary Armenia. In a country plagued with crime, corruption, and homelessness, some people seek hope through the birth of children. The feature is broken into several segments: "The Quarry," "Maternity Hospital," "Beggars," "Beggars' Feast," "Children's Home," "Refugees," and "The Shooting." Documentarist was shown in the Documentary Competition at the 2003 Karlovy Vary Film Festival.
