Synopsis by Hal Erickson
Romaine Fielding doubled as star and director of the Lubin five-reeler The Valley of Lost Hope. The aforementioned valley harbors a mining camp, where two opposing forces duke it out over the right to build a railroad. Things come to a violent head as two racing locomotives crash headlong into each other. A pair of actual locomotives were used in this climactic sequence, injecting a jolt of excitement in an otherwise plodding narrative. Busy comedy director Robin "Bobby" Williamson showed up in a minor role.
