Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Minnie Wills (Olive Thomas) isn't your typical country girl who dashes off to the big city. For one thing, she lands in Chicago instead of New York. She's also a lot smarter than her other, more naive sisters-in-spirit -while working at a modiste's shop, she meets wealthy man-about-town Moncure Kelts (Lee Phelps). When one of the other girls at the shop warns her against Kelts, Minnie shrugs it off and gets involved with him anyhow. Ultimately she forces him to propose to her in front of his mother, who gladly -- and surprisingly -- sanctions the union. By now, all the fun has gone out of the chase for Kelts, and he offers Minnie a big wad of money to just go away. She happily takes it and returns home, where her sweetheart Jed Bronson (Joe Bennett) has been waiting for her. With Kelts' money, they have a good start in life. This picture was based on a story by Ida M. Evans which appeared in Red Book magazine.
