Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Too proud to accept handouts from the father (Warren Cook) of his socialite girlfriend Virginia (Hedda Hopper), Lew Tyler (Frank Mayo) instead marries Jessie Winkler (Ruth Clifford), an old friend. Poor Lew cannot forget Virginia and begins an affair with neighbor Colleen Miles (Helen Lee Worthing). That same night, his and Jessie's child dies, and Lew drowns his sorrows in a bottle. Jessie seeks a divorce and, miracles of miracles, Virginia's father regrets his haughtiness and brings the lovers back together. To make up for his previous behavior, Lew promises Jessie to finance a hospital for poor children. Leading lady Hedda Hopper later became one of Hollywood's most influential (and feared) gossip columnists.
