Synopsis by Janiss Garza

On a voyage from Europe to the U.S., Desselway (William Courtenay) meets and falls in love with Diana Curran (Marguerite Snow). Diana has a dark past, however -- she is married to Wrenshaw (Robert Clugston), a criminal known as "the Hawk." Diana got involved with Wrenshaw because she thought he was honest, and he keeps her under his thumb by making her believe she killed a man. When Desselway and Diana land in America, he attends a party at the home where Diana works as a social secretary. Wrenshaw arrives, in search of a valuable diamond necklace. Desselway, it turns out, works for the Secret Service and has been on Wrenshaw's trail. He takes the necklace himself in order to trap the crook, and a long battle of wits unfolds. Finally Wrenshaw is shot while he is having an argument with Diana, and she finds out that the man she thought she killed isn't dead after all. With her black mark erased and her crooked husband dead, nothing more can keep her and Desselway apart.
