Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Raymond Hatton stars as a cowardly Easterner who heads out West in this comedy-drama. Jeremy Dice (Hatton), a tailor's assistant, loses his girl (Shannon Day) and his job when he can't stand up to a bully at a dance. So he leaves his east side home by jumping on a freight train. An angry brakeman throws him off the train when it reaches the Arizona desert. He finds a deserted cabin and hides in the attic when two bank robbers enter. In the midst of a heated argument, the bandits shoot each other dead. The terrified Dice comes out of the attic to find himself face to face with the sheriff's posse. Since he can't drum up the nerve to say anything, Sheriff Lawrence (Will Walling) assumes that he's responsible for killing the two bad men, and he is hailed as a hero. Dice falls in love with Mary Welling (Virginia Valli), the daughter of a wealthy rancher, and their romance finally infuses him with the courage he never had before.
