Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This is one of the strangest entries in the Japanese horror-fantasy series. It begins as the organizers of Expo '70 dig up an ancient sacred statue. This unearthed icon causes the release of Jiger, a giant lizard. It is up to Gamera, now a defender of humanity, to destroy him. During their titanic battle, the reptile's tail pounds the turtle in the chest thereby injecting it's eggs into Gamera. It is not long before a baby lizard hatches and begins sucking the great turtle's blood. To save their dying hero, two brave children enter his bloodstream via a submarine, and destroy the reptilian parasite. Meanwhile, Expo went on without a hitch.
