Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Florence Lanham (Martha Mansfield) is a snobby society miss who is doing Red Cross work in France. There she meets a handsome young officer, Captain Sam McGinnis (perpetual leading man Thomas Meighan in his first starring role) and they marry. She goes home to America, where she hears he has died in battle. But Sam is very much alive and when he returns from the war, he doesn't look so glamorous in civilian clothes, so Florence snubs him. He gets a job at the Lanham household as a butler so he can her down a peg or two. After a few lessons in humility, the couple are finally united. This light comedy was based on the play by Thomas Buchanan.
