Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

A carefree young wife is on the loose in this comedy-drama from the floundering Vitagraph company. Florence Vidor played jazz-mad Nancy Burrard, a young matron easing her boredom by flirting with married men. Major Desmond (Earle Williams) mistakes her for a widow, a supposedly comical situation which only accelerates with the return of Nancy's husband Gerald (Robert Gordon). Borrowed Husbands turned rather uneasily to melodrama when one of Nancy's conquests, Dr. Langley (Rockliffe Fellowes), commits suicide after poisoning his nurse (Claire Du Brey). One of the silent era's most beautiful stars and the first wife of director King Vidor, Florence Vidor abruptly left films after only one talkie, 1929's Chinatown Nights.
