Synopsis by Janiss Garza

This fantasy story gave Sessue Hayakawa the opportunity to play a double role. The island of Desire is ruled by a Prince (Hayakawa), who believes he has command over the sea and the moon. His court encourages these beliefs. The Prince is supposed to marry the daughter of the Grand Vizier (Bert Hadley), but while walking on the beach he sees Olala (Beatrice LaPlante), a beautiful peasant girl. He is entranced by her dancing, but when he tries to have his way with her, her response is a smart slap. Angrily, he takes her to be imprisoned at his castle, but Niki, a fisherman and lookalike of the Prince (also Hayakawa) sneaks in. When the Prince's back is turned, he knocks him unconscious and exchanges clothes with him. The Prince is cast out as Niki, while Niki, as the Prince, prepares to take Olala as his bride. But before he does, he sends for the Prince and confesses. During his time as Niki, the Prince has found peace, so when he takes the throne once again, he is content to take the Grand Vizier's daughter as his wife, while Niki and Olala wed.
